The object of EGGS is to promote the witness of Evangelicals in the life, policy and work of the Synods of the Church of England, particularly in the General Synod and its subordinate bodies. Membership is open to any member of the General Synod who assents to the EGGS Basis of Faith.
In addition to regular meetings at General Synod and the provision of briefing papers, EGGS acts as a key group within the evangelical family of the Church of England providing resources and equipping evangelicals to engage with key issues of the day.
The Committee is elected by the members of EGGS. The Chair is Rev Canon John Dunnett, a General Synod member for Chelmsford Diocese.
